Born in India and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Shaun embarked on his military journey in April 2004, quickly distinguishing himself as a leader in the cryptologic language analyst and signals intelligence fields, and broadened his career to include project management, cyber operations, human intelligence, and support to special operations forces.
During numerous Intelligence Community and joint special operations assignments, he developed and applied cybersecurity, risk assessment and mitigation, and strategic planning skills to help tackle some of the most complex challenges the US has faced. Shaun is a consummate professional whose career has been defined by leadership, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to national security.
Shaun’s expertise spans the breadth of strategic and operational factors. His proficiency in languages including Modern Standard Arabic, Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, and German, coupled with his extensive academic background, has enabled him to navigate complex global challenges effectively. He holds multiple degrees, including a Master of International Service from American University, Washington, DC, with a focus on negotiation and conflict resolution, enhancing his capabilities in diplomacy and strategic communications.
Throughout his career, Shaun has served in critical roles, including as a Squadron Senior Enlisted Leader for the Joint Cyber Operations Group in Joint Special Operations Command, multiple management and operations roles with the Joint Communications Integration Element in US Special Operations Command, and in various leadership positions across the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command. His strategic vision and technical acumen have led to significant contributions in cyber operations, intelligence analysis, and the development of innovative solutions to enhance military operations, federal law enforcement capabilities, and strategic intelligence programs.
A decorated veteran, Sergeant Chokshi's accolades include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the prestigious Department of Defense Linguist of the Year award, among others. His leadership and operational excellence have been recognized through multiple awards, including the Director of National Intelligence and various Combatant Commanders' team awards.
